Your images[edit]
Can I say I actually really like your images, and appreciate the effort you took to get them. I hope my criticism will not dishearten you in any way - it’s a very technical reasoning I’ve used and in no way am I disparaging your photos, which I actually think are well taken and interesting. It’s just I’m not entirely sure the object (the sword) is clear enough to be the most valuable image for the subject matter, even if it is the only image taken. - Chris.sherlock2 (talk) 05:23, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Chris.sherlock2 thank you for the feedback. I'm really happy you like my images. I was originally only going to nominate one of them, but my motive for both was that since they always come in pairs, I believe having File:Masakaki_with_Sword.jpg represent Masakaki as a whole might be misleading. The primary things for representing a Masakaki are the banners and the leaves at the top. Do you think it would be best to switch to nominating just the sword one as the Masakaki valued image? I do consider the sword one to be much better than the mirror and jewel one. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (please tag me) 05:30, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- I'm a bit confused... I thought Masakaki was the Shrine ritual object, not the shrine itself. The category Category:Masakaki seems to have a whole bunch of shrines but not ritual objects. What am I missing? - Chris.sherlock2 (talk) 07:48, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Chris.sherlock2 no the object is in all the images but only somewhat visible in most. The best images in Category:Masakaki are File:Masakaki Mirror and Jewel closeup.jpgFile:Masakaki with Mirror and Jewel.jpgFile:Masakaki with Sword.jpgFile:Sakurajima Masakaki with Mirror and Jewel.jpgFile:Sakurajima Masakaki with Sword.jpg
- I took all those photos but later found many images here that have the object in frame but are not focused on the images. So I added them to the category I made.
- All Masakaki come in pairs. One has a sword and one has a mirror and a jewel. See wikipedia:Masakaki for more explanation on that. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (please tag me) 17:38, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
